First of all, let me say how lucky I feel to have the vehicles that I have. :giggle:
Now let me mention WA state vehicle registration. Some years back, a citizens initiative was started to reduce license tab fees. The annual tab registration for the typical passenger vehicle was over $100 and climbing. The initiative passed with overwhelming support and the next year tabs were $30 plus tax. Now:
I just registered the used 1998 Honda VFR800:
Initial Registration: $59.00 PLUS 9.6% of Vehicle purchase price (Use Tax)
Filing: $4.50
Title Filing: $5.50
Title Service Fee: $15.00
Original Issue Plate: $4.00
Out of State Vehicle Check: $15.00
Vehicle Title Application: $15.00
Fine but here is the additional License cost, which is annual:
Registration License: $30.00 (OK citizens, happy now?)
Vehicle weight: $25.00 (Hey, this is a motorcycle. There are people heavier than this!)
Tab registration Service fee: $8.00
Plate Reflectivity: $2.00 (This is not an option.)
License Plate Technology: $.25
Dept of Licensing Service: $.50
Emergency Medical Services: $6.50 (Realistically, I should throw a few more $$$ at this.)
My $30 plates are now $72.25 if I don't contribute to the state parks or buy another park pass. If you register online, they add this extra stuff in and you have to option out of it before paying (sneaky buggers).
Don't get me started on the annual $100 additional charge on the 10 year old RV. The money goes to pay for the Seattle train system 300 miles away.

I feel better now! New reflective plate and 12 month sticker on the Viffer!
