The local Triump dealer has a very nice black 2020 Tiger GT pro with all the bells and whistles, including Triump/Givi panniers and 9,200 miles for $11,000. I test rode it and there is not a thing wrong with the bike...the rear brake works, it is great paddling around, the rear brake works, it has all the power you need, the rear brake works, it has an aftermarked Givi windscreen that is the cats meow, it has all the crash bars and running led lights and heated seats... and the rear brake works, unlike my Vstrom and VFR. I was already to hand them the keys to my 2014 FJR, which is worth $4,000 trade in but I would have taken $3,000.
Nope, we dont want your 39,000 mi Yamaha...and yes, we know we took in Phil's NT700v with over 100,000 on it.
Nope, we wont budge on the price, nor the mark up on the extended maintenance, nor the $200 document fees. And we gonna charge you $40 for a "Travel Permit in State", what ever the heck that is.
Further, they wanted to sell me a service contract for $1925 for 3 years. They said that would cover the $1800 valve check in 3,000 miles.
Other than the color and the lack of dealers, I have nothing bad to say about the bike. Its alittle buzzy at high RPMs but you dont cruise at high rpms.....
Panniers were in dealer and looked perfect. Windscreen looks bigger than it really is but goes up and down and is perfect for me.
Who wants an FJR?
