Hello all. Question for yas. Is the. NT 700 made in to different colour reds or wine if you like. Some pictures you see some stand out and some a bit duller.

The US version was offered in a dark maroon red for 2010 along with Silver. For 2011 all USA NT's were black. We didn't get many colour choices here....

I always thought my big lids (from the UK) looked slightly darker than the red on my NT. That could just be a batch variation or something though.

Or it could be that your original panels had faded a little and the big lids were not faded? By the way, the reds are the worst colors for fading.

The official name for the red on this side of the pond is Bloom Red which IIRC is the R319 paint code. The red does fade considerably as Dirt Flier mentioned. My right pannier is badly faded and my left pannier, not so much. During my working years I always parked the bike where the right pannier faced the western sun and the left faced our building...... BIG difference.

Well, I'll admit the red is cool...until it starts to fade. That's when the Superior Silver blasts right past.

"...Especially since the introduction of the water-based paints from '96 onward..."

The color red used on a motor vehicle has been fading much quicker than other colors since I was a kid so it's not something new.
