I just returned (Saturday) from a six day ride from northern Utah to Redding CA for a Russell Day Long seat build. The total trip was about 2060 miles; we had a great time. Other than the wretched Android Auto, the bike was just fine. I now have close to 5K miles on the tires and they still have a lot of life left in them. The new seat is great. We got into Redding on Tuesday evening, went to Shasta Lake to Russell Wednesday morning and they started on the seat right away. They gave me a temporary seat and we rode up to Shasta Lake dam (unfortunately no tours on Wednesday or Thursday) and drove around some, then returned to Russell to try the seat on for size. After some minor adjustments they got started on the cover and we took off north for Shasta Lake Caverns, which are well worth the trip if you are up to walking up and down a whole bunch of stairs. Returning around 3:30 they had the seat finished by 4, and we got Josh's Tracer measured for a new seat, too. The next day we took off west for Highway 101 and the Redwoods state/national park, then spent the night in Medford. Friday we headed east across southern Oregon and northern Nevada, spent the night in Elko, then got home Saturday afternoon.

As I mentioned, the bike was fine; it handled the twisties in Lassen National Forest and the 90+ speeds on I84 without a hitch. The only issue was the horrible connectivity of the Android Auto. It kept losing the connection and defaulting back to the Tour screen, and I had to pull over and stop/start the bike to reboot the system. Honda REALLY needs to address this issue. I'm now looking at aftermarket Android Auto devices on Amazon. I installed the cheapest AA device I could find on the Tracer and once Josh got it synced to his phone it worked great.

I just put the Tracer seat in the mail to Russell, as they had a cancellation and will be able to build the seat next week. It'll be a huge improvement. If you think the NT seat is bad, spend 1800 miles on a Tracer 900 seat; it's truly horrible.
