Pannier guards/crash bars...

since I pulled the trigger on large pannier lids for my GF's NT700VA I wonder if anyone found a solution for working tip-over bars like on the ST1300

The wings on the NT700 barely protect the engine covers, but not the tupperware, and certainly not the large saddlebag lids...

Boy, I wish.............!!!
I suggested some kind of Homemade Set using the passenger footpeg mounting locations, but was quickly shot down by the Group here saying not enough structural rigidity in that area. The footpeg brackets are $150 for each side, assuming it will be broken in a fall??........but probably cheaper than trying to purchase a new wider pannier??

Doubt so, just spent £373.96/€436,83,- on those lids... and I somehow feel that my GF will drop her NT again...
And the NT falls down flat... so at least some crash bars that stop it at ~45° would be helpful (my ST rests on her elbows and moans "watch it buster!" )

I used stick on automotive bumper guards. I put them below the crease in the lid, where the NT should land, to at least protect them in a Stop and Drop. Fortunately I never had to test them... Other folks here have done the same approach with mixed results depending on the type of impact.

Did this already on the standard lids, centered as this is the impact area during a drop...
Guess I'll have to stick those guards on the bottom edge of the wider lids then...

I've got mine at the crease in the big lids and they didn't have a mark from the one time I've dropped Horse.
