GF and NT700VA in rehab...

Are you going to replace the bushings also, or just the seals. 62K miles I would think the bushing could also be ready to be replaced. Just a side note: the fork seals on my ST1300 lasted 100000 miles.
Did those at 36,000km... (did a full overhaul of forks (and then some) right after we'd obtained that NT used from a dealer...)
And I replaced fork oil last year, while replacing the head bearings...
I'll see en detail once I've them apart...
Will also have to figure out if there is possible aftermath from her crash (they don't appear bend or twisted though), a bug-splash, a chipped fork tube or indeed just age...
During a quick visual no discoloration, no scratches and no chips to be seen nor felt... :shrug2:

Alright, servicing the forks and installing new seals went fully smooth...
Teflon coating on the bushings still in top shape, no scratches or wear marks...
The oil was still greenish, only minimal sludge in the bottom of the forks...
All carefully cleaned and flushed, assembled and filled with 2x 470ml trusty BelRay 10W...

While at it I also replaced the brake pads front and rear (down to ~30%), so we don't have to worry when darting up to Sweden late summer...

Tomorrow she's a "floating" MOT appointment, where she has to drop the NT off in the morning, they'll check it sometimes during the day and call when its done...

Has she had any jitters left after her off last fall?

Hmm... going like 10~20kph slower at times...
limited movement of right hip joint a little issue when getting up...
plated radius in left forearm can cause discomfort with (too) frequent operation of clutch (i.e. urban traffic...)

but she's motivated, planning and urging for the rides...

Good for her....bodies do take awhile to heal....Life is a great teacher...but it is the wise student that actually learns the lessons...there is nothing wrong with going a bit slower...becoming a bit more cautious...knowing when to not put your hand in a wood chipper cause you are overly tired and in a hurry. I still enjoy riding at 77...especially touring....I just dont go as far and as fast and lean so much like I used to. Glad she is still motivated....
3 weeks till my first tour of the year to Spearfish....I am motivated too...but I will be looking for the deer by the side of the road on the mountain passes......
