It's hard to believe, but someone stole my Corbin saddle off the NT today. I guess I didn't have the aftermarket latches locked, so shame on me. Never had anyone steal a seat before. If anyone knows of a seat for sale please let me know. Thanks.

Sorry to hear that. There's no sense in trying to make sense out of a theft like that one. So often it is just an impulse act of an opportunistic and un-informed thief. Not likely that it was stolen for an NT as so few people even know what an NT is. But it certainly pays to look for where it might have ended up.
If I were a thief and had the seat off, I'd take the battery and leave the seat. Batteries are more sellable.
In about 2004 my sister-in-law had her 198? Suzuki 400 stolen at the Super 8 in Athens TN. It was never a very good bike and this one was in poor condition. Turns out the motel night clerk took the bike but failed to get it loaded into his van in time to complete the job. The theif was surprised by my early-rising sister-in-law and so he just pushed the bike into the weeds behind his van and got caught.

The ironic thing is Bearbait gave away the original screen and seat for postage to some lucky folks on here. Wish I had that seat now.

That would look great on your NT. It would look flat-out weird on my silver one.
So Sorry to hear that, man. Check local Facebook, it's where all theft items end up nowadays. Ad absolutely get a police report.
I have an extra factory seat, if you need it. $40, plus the freight.
There are parts of this country, including in parts of Spokane, where theives will break open a car window for a handful of change in the console. Once I was sleeping in my car when someone tried to break in. They elected to leave when they saw Mr. Colt was with me. We are faced with a whole culture of people in the US and ? who care not and will take anything. It makes me very sad.
Does the Corbin seat latch like the stock seat ? If so I am surprised they knew how to get it off.

I'll bet they opened the lids looking for something and saw the latch, flicked it and thought "Hey, free seat!" Glad I didn't have anything in the panniers.

Yabbut, if it's still stock in order to get the lids open, you gotta have the key inserted. Doubtful he left the key in.

You can leave it unlocked. I guess you have to have a key in it. I've had a key epoxied into an oil can lid for so long, I don't remember if it has to be there or not.

You don't have to have the key to remove the seat with these aftermarket locks on the outside. You just open them and then pull the latch to release the seat. Pretty convenient. Maybe a little too convenient.

If I ever get around to putting the external latches on my bike, the ones I've got are combination locks. They probably still wouldn't be too hard to get into.
My Corbin locks in a OEM, so I guessing someone upgrade their seat or replacing a damage one.
I agree. I think whoever took it was familiar with the NT. The seat does not just pop up when you pull the lever. It still takes a rearward tug to remove it. Heck every time I took mine to the dealer I had to remind them how to get it off. Of course it’s all speculation. No way to know for sure who took it and why.
Some kid whose dad has an NT700, was walking by your bike and thought.....Gee, I think I will get dad a nice seat for Fathers Day.
