The older I get, the more pain in the butt I get from sitting on a motorcycle. I've tried air cushions gel cushions, memory foam cushions. A combination of an air cushion and a medical gel cushion get me about 3 hours before I'm hurting bad.

I fella on the Two Wheeled Texans forum recommended Steve Going, had two seats modified by him with a glowing recommendation. I've talked with Steve on the phone and will likely work with him to modify my seat to provide more support.

I have had two seats built by Steve Gowing here in Fort Collins Colorado. One for my FJR and another for my little Versys X300 which I don't have any more. He does good work and I can ride up to his place for proper fitting. Might have him build a seat for my NT1100, but as of yet it does not bother me too much. Of course I have not taken any long boring trips with the NT yet.

Thanks for that!

I installed a used Russell Day-Long saddle on my NT700. I also added a backrest with parts for a Goldwing I found on Amazon. Because the seat was custom made for someone else, who was shorter than me, the fit isn't perfect, however, installing that seat increased my ride time from one hour to literally all day, just like the name says.

I use an Airhawk adjustable pressure air seat cushion. It fits all three of my bikes and keeps pressure off of my perineum area. They make a number of different shapes and sizes.

I have one. It helps but does not cut it.
I do not ride long distances...350-400 miles is a nice lone day for me. A fleece sheepskin on top of the airhawk works for me. Also, stopping often. Moving around the pad also helps. As does leaning forward or leaning back with feet up on hiway pegs.

I have concluded I don't need a cushion, I need wider support under my butt.

I settled on a fella who comes highly recommended by other riders. I looked into 5 companies that modify motorcycle seats, two were unable to do the modifications I need. Steve Goings, in Colorado, is closest - lowest shipping cost. I plan to ship my seat to him on 3 June; he will spend the week of 8 June working on it. We talked on the phone a good bit and he asked for pictures of my sitting on my bike, to get an idea of how my weight is distributed. Should have me modified seat back around the 17th.

I got my seat modified by guy in Florida 1st. Didn't help, need those wings like look to keep butt cheeks supported. Like tractor seat.
So I got a Russell DayLong, my new NT1100 did a ride in with Seth Laam
