We will be attending two high school graduations next summer with dates TBD. One in Dallas, Texas area, and one in Virginia Beach.
I hope to attend Spearfish if possible to fit it in. Further info forthcoming as available.
 
Unless my Wife's medical condition drastically changes one way or the other I will not be able to attend again next year. You all have fun, be safe and have a beer for me.

Ya, I’m planning on it. But like Chris mentions elsewhere on here - at our age we are more aware acutely that anything can happen
 
I'm planning to come to my first rally next year. NT1100 with my new Seth Laam seats I can do long distances. Too early for actual planning, but I will add somewhere else to visit too. 2 places come to mind that I haven't been is Glacier National Park, or northern Michigan
 
Will have to take a day trip to Medora, ND and see the TR Pres Library. Looks like a very cool little town.
 
Looks like an easy 204 mile trek due north from Spearfish to the Teddy Roosevelt Presidential Library. Thanks for mentioning, Joe!

That's neat. Was watching that today, something different to do. I visited Keystone, MT Rushmore, Custer SP, Iron Mtn Rd, Crazy Horse, in 2018 on my solo motorcycle trip, and then again this year when took my wife to area first time. Didn't goto Spearfish. So new places will be fun

If you go to Glacier, its beautiful, but check the enter reservation system.
 
Maybe the stars have aligned. The 2027 BMW MOA National Rally will be in Great Falls MT, 17 -19 June. It is 500 miles to Chris' campground. Further if you go through Yellowstone, Teton, Dubois WY or Yellowstone, Big Horns ... There are 3 days between events. I was at the 2017 Rally in Salt Lake. It was at the Salt Lake City Fairgrounds. What a party! Free coffee and conversation in the mornings, free hot showers. Lots of handouts, seminars, places to eat at the campground, entertainment, etc ... oh yeah, lots of bikes and vendors. There was tire sales and installations etc. In the past, BMW has provided bikes to test ride. Glacier National Park is 145 miles.

That's why I put this a week later than usual. I'm not going to it but knew others would be interested.

Thanks Joe, I might try this. I’m not sure this big event is for me. But I have friends in Poplar (NE MT) and Hamilton (western MT) that I’d love to visit too, so I could incorporate visiting friends as a fallback plan.

But my priority is, as usual, Spearfish ST/NT camping. (And a 2-hour long breakfast/coffee with friends at Perkins)
 
Great memories! The event that I went to was after Spearfish in 2017, I had a very HOT July trip from Spearfish to Salt Lake City. Since I was so early, I was "obligated" to volunteer to help set up. Pitched my tent in the shade of a tree. My neighbor said "come with me". We went to the admissions building, sat down liked we belonged there, stuffed welcome folders, drank coffee, and enjoyed the air conditioning (vs chalking the parking areas in the sun or the like). Unlike me, not his first rodeo.

He also had a great suggestion. When you wake up in the middle of the night, go to the shower semi trailers. They are empty. After a shower, return to your tent and sleep in. Cool and clean, worked great. In the morning, there were many tables and free coffee. Have a seat and make new friends. There were plenty of varied interesting bikes, motorcycle activities and vendors.

There was a previous MOA Rally in MT (same venue 2021) at the same time as Spearfish. I was sorry to miss it but Spearfish had/has priority.
