Fire!

What is the state of Washington doing? Growing seedlings of arsonist's in the wild with rapid grow?

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding this arson stuff. Start a fire for fun? If it hits the national news you succeeded your mission?
Probably good that I don't get it.

They are excepting arsonists from out of state. No one is saying how he paid his bills or housed himself or financed his life or indeed what that life was/is like. His own mother, who he pointed his gun at before shooting himself, isnt talking, but she knows things......

Why 5 arsonists in Spokane? The streets are full of mentally ill people. or the Unhoused who are just careless with their camp fires. Spokane is a perfect place to set fires...square miles of unkept grassland and over grown sick forests, lots of rural places to commit arson and get away....wind and heat and drought.

Aaron is from Arizona, and came here in Oct 2022 after killing his father...two shots, one to the jaw, one in the back and serving only 10 years . He put a bullet into his own stomach.

Detective Michael Drapeau said in a court filing Wednesday that Aaron Farinacci told him that he planned the Old Trails fire for about two weeks. He researched the weather to predict a day that would have "high winds, low humidity, sort of high heat."

Farinacci also researched a well-known serial arsonist and purchased items to make a "time delay device" for igniting a wildfire using notebook paper, matches, a cigarette and a rubber band, the detective said.

The fire Farinacci was charged with sparking is one of three burning in the Spokane area that have burned more than 850 homes and forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of people.

Drapeau said Farinacci told him that "fire is powerful, beautiful, and that things that go through fire experience a kind of rebirth."

Watch "Backdraft" and it will chill you to the bones.
Donald Sutherland played the chilling, institutionalized psychopathic arsonist Ronald Bartel in the 1991 Ron Howard thriller Backdraft. In the film, investigator Robert De Niro's character consults Bartel—often compared to a fire-obsessed Hannibal Lecter—to help profile a new serial arsonist on the loose.
They are a special kind of sick.....

Well, here we go again. No wind on this hot night but there is a small fire 2.5-3 miles away...they jumped on it 11 at night.
Sat is when the looters and arsonists will reappear. 40 mph winds....I will put the evac kit into the car on Friday.

The first arsonist got 700 homes.

Many who lost their homes had fir trees actually touching their house and had tall grass 20 ft away from their homes.

I ripped out all my fir trees some idiot planted 20 ft from my house and took out all the trees within 50 yards easy. And I wack and trim and trim and wack.

I am not going to evacuate unless they make me. And only then will I put the cars and bikes in a big field that has been wacked to the dirt.

New body cam vid of LEOs going house to house warning people to evacuate. Note the evergreens growing right against the house and the unkept woods.

This is what a grass fire of 1.5 ft high dry grass looks like driven by high winds with high heat and low humidity and no rain for 6 weeks. Its coming up a ravine.
Wask grass.jpgNote how fast the tree catches on fire. Many trees didnt burn for whatever reason but 700 homes did. Wack wack wack.

Today is the big kahuna. cooled off to 76 last night finally. High winds today and no rain since June. They only have 4 of the arsonists locked up. and a handful of looters.
If you believe, have good thoughts for Spokane....no one knows how many arsonists came into town over the last few days for this red flag warning.

First fire of the day. A lonely intersection in the middle of nowhere 3 miles away.

Southern Arkansas had a fire pop up. Last I saw 2,000 acres and 80% contained. Seems to be mostly under control.
We've got many very dry areas in the state so fires are more serious than they were and starting to make the regular news.

Last night at midnight, I sat out on my back porch, sweating out the last 5 hours of our Red flag warning...I figured the arsonists had given up due to the light winds....when a small 6 drop storm blew through. Most of the lightning was cloud to cloud, thankfully. But we made it....today is much cooler but also breezy. I never not have my phone and its alert system NOT on me.
People can poo poo climate change all they want. Its real, if only for a year. In the summer of 1936, 5,000 Americans died from the heat. Good luck and dont forget to pull up any spruce trees around your house. Many of the 700 spokane home that were lost still have mostly intack Ponderosa pines around them...but one spark in a blue spruce and its all over.
Lightning strikes at midnight.

We are back to the smoke filled air. Today we have fog/drizzle polluted by smoke. Kind of a strange mixture.
Our air has been good, knock on wood. They just caught one of four arsonists that set the Chelan fire in July. Took out 10,000 acres, 100 buildings of all types, and one human life. One million dollar bail. The police are working on getting the others. I think they used some sort of hand held roman candles as they drove down the rural tall dead grass fields. They are from Western WA. Just one small fire today...cool and no wind and .050 rain last night.

Over there they at least face the full weight of the law...

Over here a 12 year old threw firecrackers while(!!) hiking with his family...

That BS first ignited the dry grass which spread to a significant wood-fire on a difficult to access, very steep mountain-face at 5000 ft elevation...
150 firefighters, several (air-force) helicopters... took them 4 days to get the fire under control and several more to locate and secure all embers in the ground...

Punishment? Consequences? Nah...

Dunno what's wrong with parents these days...
(mine would have nearly killed me while themself being sued back to stoneage by the authorities...)

Parenting, or lack there of, is almost gone. Maybe 25 percent of kids have parents who care. Certain groups of people? Only half have fathers...and that includes the well off as well as the ghetto folk. Then we have the entitled group. On the news here, parents will go out on the field of play and tackle a kid of the opposite side running for a touch down.
I know a lady who was head of the English dept at Boise High school...she said many parents would just argue with her that their child was perfect and that she was wrong.

The guy who shot his father to death...one to the jaw, one to the back, and put a bullet in his own stomach, over a dish washing argument, was released after 10 years on reduced charges...in Arizona. No one will say how he supported himself when he came to Spokane a few years ago. He lived with a person and a child. He very carefully planned his fire on apps. 600 homes gone and one person died due to a medical emergency. He confessed to 25 fires, including a big one last year.

At one time America had 500 mental health institutions...they closed them all down to save money and kicked the mentally ill out on the street. Our prisons are overcrowded and overworked prosecuters have to plea bargin to get any work done.

Frankly, I am amazed that Tiger woods got off with a 5 year license suspension after multiple DUI crashes.
(Here, underage kids parents will be sued but you cant get blood out of a turnip. The liablility insurance company will just pay out the $250,000 and walk away, and the owners dont have anything anyway.

A sad note....people whose houses were saved have extensive smoke and ash damage. Think all the clothe furnature, all the clothes,. all the carpeting...maybe even computers.....many are finding small escape clauses in their policies... $90,000 damage? You get $5,000.
