16th Nat'l NT Rally - Jun 17-20, 2026 - Spearfish, SD

Is anyone but me gonna show? I talk to myself now but I can do that at home. Ken? You gonna make it?

C’mon Chris. You KNOW I’ll be there.

But, how are we going to get along without the leader of the band - Mellow Joe?
Just won’t be the same.

And, who will bring the NT/ST banner to make it official ? I am volunteering now.

I see that Yoda and myself are just recently on the RSVP list. And I see 5 or 6 on the ST list. I also noted that Bells motel has closed.

You’re right Chris about things changing.

Dan typically brings the Banners. I'll miss seeing you guys but I'm sure you'll all have a good time without me, you've done it before. I think I've missed 3 or 4 of these in the past.

I wonder if anybody is going to show up riding a NT1100. Wish it could be me. Not going to happen. Will miss seeing any of you that do make it to Spearfish this year.

I'll be missing it this year, sux but June is blocked off at work due to a major implementation. Sometimes those things get delayed but so far everything is on track so I'm not hopeful.

But, I will next year.
Joe, I hope that your leaving us without responsible adult supervision isn’t a big mistake. We might decide to up the misbehavior bar set by some motorcyclists in a town just east of Spearfish. And I’m particularly worried about your mental health because of the stress of missing out at the campground together with worrying about what we may do in your absence. :rofl1:

Gotta see if I can worm my way back through Dubois...nothing stays the same at the Museum....

Just had another surgery on my good eye, supposed te be good in six weeks. I plan to come.
I just had cataract surgery on both eyes within the last 3 weeks. So far so good.

I hope your outcome is great. It will be good to see you and make our attempt at draining the coffee pot each morning again.

I’d be honored to accompany you to the museum IF we can get our schedules together. I can’t do it before Spearfish. It has been 2 years since I was there. For me that could mean arriving at Spearfish late or maybe leaving early. I figure it would add at least 5 days to my trip overall mostly in wonderful Wyoming.

Great! We usually leave Spearfish after a leasurely breakfast saturday morning and stay in Buffalo Sat night. Then, ride the great ride to Dubois, see the museum and spend Sunday night in Dubois at the wagon wheel.

Had mine a year ago...the hardest part was waiting the 6 weeks to get my new glasses. No side effects one year in. Small correction in glasses a month ago so I can see the smallest print on the close up eye chart.

I texted Redbird to see if he was going to make it. No answer yet. Lanna has consented to take me in for three days.
Edit: He texted me back. He is gonna try and make it.

If it’s not too big a crowd, I might consider tagging along to see the museum in Dubois also. It would be my first trip there.

I spent an excellent, long day at the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson a year ago. If Dubois is half as good, then it would certainly be worth the trip.

Pima is excellent for airplanes. Dubois is fantastic for vehicles and history

My tentitive schedule for anyone wanting to see the museum is as follows. You will note I am not a travaler in a hurry.
1. Sat am, the 20th. Get up, go to breakfast, pack the camp up, go to Buffalo, land of cheep motel rooms, and kick back. Super 8 is very nice. I took Redbird to Z-Bar cabins which I do when I am alone. Costs more than the Super 8 but its a nice redone old motor court.

2. Sunday morning, eat, Ride over the Bighorns to Worland, then south to Shoshoni (Wind River Canyon is nice) and on to Dubois. The museum is before Dubois so I can stop and see it and the ticket is good for 2 days. Since I have seen it so much, I personally probably only need a couple hours to get caught up. The Museum if never seen can suck away 6 hours easily. I like the Stagecoach Inn at Dubois and its not cheep but then nothing is except Buffalo.

Hey, Chris, it sounds like a plan. Are reservations needed for any of the hotels?

Regarding “not in a hurry”, you always seem to get up and going before me. I must be REALLY slow.

I would reccommend reservations that you can always cancel. Talking with motel managers, the lack of Canadians has hurt their bottom line, but in places like Dubois, gateway to the Grand tetons, and now a huge influx of museaum goers, I would definately make reservations. The Museum is now building its own hotel, but its gonna take awhile.

I am VERY sorry to say I"m out. Got a "Jury Duty" letter in the mail today....I'm on call all of June.

But the last time I went in for a jury selection and when it was over they told us we had done out duty and were done. If that happens I'll pack quick and motor toward Spearfish!
