NT 1100
I picked up my NT May 24, and now have just under 15,000 miles. I'm not totally sold on the DCT, but it does have some very good points. The bike has plenty of power and seems to be quicker than othe bikes I've had. Of course thats going by the butt dyno, but if one needs to pass a long vehicle - just twist the throttle and hang on! It could use more cargo space, but that is because i had BUMOT luggage on my last three bikes and those are pretty big panniers. Its hard to now have less room, but Oh well....
All in all its a good bike.
I got home today from riding over to Missouri, Arkansas, etc...lots of nasty weather, but still enjoyed visiting with family, and seeing some awesome sights.

I think if I were ten years younger and there was a standard tranny, I would give it a serious look at. Not today. Smaller and lighter are they directions I will take at 76 years old. But if people see the need for 1100 ccs and a DCT, fine. Frosty likes all the gee whiz electronics and even ads more.....I have stopped wearing my helmet blue tooth....

This 76 year old just got back from a 90 mile ride on my FJR. The NT1100 is smaller and lighter than the FJR. The DCT, different but works good and is fun to ride. When I want a clutch I just ride one of my other bikes. NT carries it's lighter weight very good and is balances perfect. Chris, with all your money you should get one  There is a Demo model at my local Mom and Pop Aurora Honda dealer waiting to be bought. It has your name on it. You could do a fly and ride, but better hurry before the snows come to the High County between here and your place.

IN YOUR "OLD AGE", keeping your hand on the grips is better than using a clutch lever!!!! DCT is all hands on deck, I mean grips for more acting like a track racer!!!! Got to help you spend money!!!

Y'all are wastin' yer time..... he'd rather fritter his money away on Asian babes....

A bike has to speak to me before I buy it....It just doesnt speak to me like the XT, and VFR. The Feral govt is making all my money disappear due to inflation and I cant live on my $350 / month retirement.
Maybe you and Frosty could give me some of those big bucks you get out of the Feral Govt? :thumb:

At my age, my hands become numb just grabbing a broom handle....Working the clutch keeps them from going numb. I am spending enough and I dont need help. Two cruises to Mexico, two to Hawaii, and a new car. Of course, if you looked like one of those Biker babes I follow...well, then you can help!

Exactly the reason I got the NT. My S ten has 170,000 miles so something new was in order, I LOVED the S ten, but 1 wanted a lighter, lower bike. But at 68 I'm starting to feel like theh kid here
Maybe you and Mellow ARE the kids! For me, I loved those years with the NT but at this time there are just too many better options. Trading in the NT for the VFR was one of my smarter moves. It feels much lighter and its way easier to paddle around the garage. Sure, the shaft drive was nice....but the smoothness and power of the VFR make up for the chain.

At almost 71 and being a two wheeled nut, as some locals have called me, I'm still loving the NT700 even after 107K miles, however, after riding Woodaddict's 1100, I really like the feel and power of the bike and would definitely make a serious effort to purchase one, IF they bring the manual transmission model to the states. I know Dave has told me the DCT works well, however like another here mentioned, I like the clutch and use it alot. Believe me, I have an old 1200 Sportster that I ride locally and on 2 to 3 hundred mile rides. Pulling the clutch lever on that thing has kept my left hand pretty strong. When I get on my NT and pull the lever, it's like "Is this thing broken"? :rofl1: So I'd be much happier with the manual transmission version.

WVRider, Just leave the DCT in manual and finger shift with paddles. Shifts faster and a lot smoother. I too was a non believer die hard gotta have clutch handle and foot shifter. Now I really enjoy the DCT in heavy traffic and around town. When I miss a clutch handle and a foot shifter I just go ride one of my other bikes. The more I ride the NT1100 the better I like the DCT. Lots of option for shifting with the DCT. Even in the auto mode you can down shift and up shift when you want. Best to have a fully manual bike and a DCT bike in your garage.

I will add further........ When WVRider test rode back in May, it was in "D" mode (drive) which has a tendency to be jumpy in slow parking lot moves. If you experienced this could be a turn off. But any of the 3 sport modes takes this out of play. Shift points are higher, with also downshifting, has great engine braking. Found this out on Tail of Dragon. For me had to get over chain drive again, last had it with my 1978 Suzuki GS550, in between this bike and NT1100, had 6 shaft drive bikes. Got spoiled of not having to constant chain maintenance . Did you complain from going from carbs to FI, cause you knew how to work on carbs? Throttle body is easier to work on without those small holes that get clogged up, but its now controlled by computer

If Honda doesn't bring the manual shift next year, then you'll get another test ride at 2026 NT gathering!! To try out sport mode and manual mode

Maybe I should read the manual... I thought I only had one sport mode to choose from.

As for chain maintenance, I got spoiled by the Scott Auto oiler on my first Strom (05)....and have used them on each chain bike since then. The one I have on the NT is much improved from the first one on the Strom. The controler is so convenient. Anyway I don't get a kickback from Scott Co, but I should....I might be their biggest cheerleader in the States!

press and hold the D button ( a quick press switches from D to sport, a longer hold press switches the 3 modes), will change from 1, 2, 3 sport modes, all increasing the 3 attributes of power, torque, or engine braking

Thank you! If I understand you correctly #1 sport mode has less power etc than #3? I believe I have 3 little lines after the S, I'll have to look again.

3 lines is max use of the functionality, highest shift points and best engine braking, downshifts at higher rpm for best engine braking.

I looked at D button tonight leaving work. It's actually D-S

One thing I found out by watching a NT1100 video a month ago,,,, can just roll throttle backwards, cancels cruise control. I was using brake or just turning off cruise button. So now I can just leave button on, cancel only but reverse action of throttle
