Red plug?

There's a red plug in the compartment under the passenger seat, right hand side, clipped into the plastic above the tail light connector. It's part of the tail light wiring harness, but it doesn't go anywhere. Anyone have any idea what it's for?

I believe that is the engine diagnostic connector. Of course I have never used it.

My electronic guru sez it is a diagnostic connector, however I would take that with a grain of salt until we can get human confirmation.

Yep, it’s 6pin OBDII, Don’t mess with that, but you can successfully connect Mapit GPS tracker device, or shunt pin 1 & 3 to add devices, such as Fog lights or Heated Grips!
