US Navy documents

Tx, Chris, that will be fun to go thru

I am kind of warped. Flak fasincates me. 8,000 plus 88 mm flak shells to bring down one bomber. The mechanical computers used to calculate the 30 second flight path of one shell trying to hit a bomber 5 miles high in uncertain winds aloft going 140 mph air speed. But the Navy had a much different problem. Then I saw all the history articles off to the side....
While flak at times obviously worked, given enough flak guns, it was like the Norden bomb site....Which had to solve 26 algorithums at once and only worked about as well as the much simpler British bomb site....the bottom line is quantitiy of shells and bombs were much more important that some fake pinpoint accuracy.
