Me too. At 76, balance issues are what scares me the most. This is not a small bike. My V strom handles nicely at slow speeds...the VFR is fine and not top heavy...I have to be very careful with the FJR at slow push speeds.
 
from that listing found out it has, 6 speed DCT, heated grips, cruise control, a screen about 6" that supports AppleCar Play and Andriod Auto. Woohoo!! there is less plastic on the 1100 than 700, I'm guessing, but I think weight wise will be about same as NT with 400cc more

I have a LCD display on the Triumph. I was not sure that I would like it. I do like it. It is visible in all sorts of lighting with many display options. Unfortunately mine does not have CarPlay or Auto. I use that feature on my car with Google Maps. Google Maps now includes audio notifications for reported Police, items on the highway, slow downs, etc and displays your gps speed. Mine is not a touch screen, but uses handle bar thumb controls. I do not think that I would like hand off of my controls, but it may not be a problem.

I have a refundable 100 dollar deposit on one to see if I like it in person. If I do it will replace my 11 year old FJR1300. If I was going to replace my 11 year old FJR and I was 10 years younger, I would like to test ride one. This bike is certainly lighter. I have no idea what tarrif rabbit hole this bike drops into. I believe I saw some companies adding tarrif prices after the fact to the sticker. With all the gadgets, it will be interesting to see what an extended warrenty goes for. Does this bike have keyless ignition like the Kaw C14?

How many miles on your FJR. I have 62k on mine.
 
So, I walked out in the garage with my wife thew other day and as she was looking at my three bikes, I said "not sure which one or ones that I want to trade if I like the new NT1100 that I have a deposit on" She in return with out any hesitation said "You have room in the garage for four bikes, keep them" Yes I do but it will be very tight.

You both need counselling.
 
If the NT was an 800 and, manual transmission, and weighted less I would consider trading in the FJR in on one. But I am 76 and have two very capable touring bikes PLUS the FJR. I dont ride much anymore but I love to tour on bikes. But now the west goes up in smoke...including Western WA last year...starting in late July or so, and the Reno air races are over....If I had someone to ride with, things might be different....

Still lots of technology, and as he says, its not intuitive. My new car has the same issues and I have to be careful with the 11` in touch screen so I dont drive off the road just turning on the A/C.
As he pointed out, the luggage is an odd shape and it looks like big lids would make a world of difference. I am not convinced about the wind screen and I think you will see aftermarket ones appear, as they have for all three of my bikes.
