Saw my surgeon today ref getting new lenses to replace my cateract clouded ones. I get measured on the 25th and go in for surgerys in January. Guess what? They dont even use eye drops anymore. You get this big shot of antibiotics and that's it. The really odd thing is he says my right eye, 20/20, if worse than my left eye 20/25. Still gonna have the left one done first.

I had both of mine done around 2007-08 with 18 months between them. No problems since that time.

January 2018 both eyes, about 3 weeks apart.
I have been moderately nearsighted since 10 years old. The eye surgeon strongly recommended that he install new lenses to achieve the same thing.
I said that I wanted 20/20 DISTANT vision after surgery, not nearsighted.
He was adamant that I wouldn’t like it.
I stood my ground.
I now have 20/20 distant vision without glasses, although I do need glasses for reading.
I love it, and wouldn’t change anything.
And no, I did not upgrade thousands for multi-focal lens implants.

My doc said I was wise to get two plain lenses set for far vision, and I always have loved glasses anyway....and i love progressive lenses so a month after the last surgery I can get new glasses. An unnamed forum member got the fancy lenses from the same doc but still needs cheaters now and again. But he is happy. I think you were wise. People on the cateract forum who do the same are happy.
