And you can change the gearing.

Having heard, I can now search.Just like the type of tires for that rig, lasting only 5~6,000km/3~4,000miles...
That sux!... sounds like you're ok?I'll be looking at NT1100, as my NT700 and me was in a crash, will be totalled. Someone turned left RIGHT in front of me. First road accident since I've been on road.
Also looking at NC700, CTX 700, NM4
Actually at dealership just now, I knew more than they did. Said they are being shipped here now. Couldn't get me a price or one that came with saddlebag. There was a nice 2018 NC700 with alot of accessories for about 5,800
Yes ok. 3 ribs cracked in 2 places = 6, plus 1 crack on right ribs = 7 different places. Small lung puncture healing on its own. March 7th. Many those ribs HURT!!! So 2nd NT retired at just over 129K miles. A 15 yr old learner permit, WITHOUT adult driver turned left right in front of me. No time to react, just got hit going about 25 mph. So much plastic broken and rear saddlebag lid broken with a deep gouge in fork tube, it will be totalled. That sux!... sounds like you're ok?
Aww man, I've been through that mess. Surgeries, physical therapy, dealing with party's insurance. At least it sounds like lower speeds saved you from worse.Driver turned left right in front of me.
I had a tumble years ago on a beemer, cracked a rib or two, bent the fairing bracket and tore up a few other things. Took me longer to heal than it did for me repair the bike.Yes ok. 3 ribs cracked in 2 places = 6, plus 1 crack on right ribs = 7 different places. Small lung puncture healing on its own. March 7th. So getting another one at 14/15 hrs old, not going to do it, mainly starting of brittle plastic. TOP buy is the NT1100. I have the Spyder RT, but don't want to just put work commute miles on it. Got 4 more yrs to work
Sorry to hear of your misfortune David. Glad you will ride another day. Stay safe!Yes ok. 3 ribs cracked in 2 places = 6, plus 1 crack on right ribs = 7 different places. Attaboy Chuck!! Keep our economy strong!!Going to go down to put a refundable deposit on a NT1100 tomorrow. My local mom and pop Honda dealer told me today they are getting one unit at the end of May. Think I am going to let the FJR go in as a trade in. And a couple of months to make up my mind about the Versys 1000 SE.
You have never had a VFR, have you?I have had Yamaha, Honda, and BMW shaft-driven bikes. All of them were easier than changing a tire on a chain-driven bike. Keeping the chain aligned and at proper tension is something I care to avoid.
Are you getting the Nt1100p Police model, like at the Osaka Motorcycle show? I like the 3 roll bars.Going to go down to put a refundable deposit on a NT1100 tomorrow. There are many bikes I've never owned. I only speak of the (shaft-driven) ones I have owned. Yamaha 750 Triple, 750 Virago, 850 Triple, BMW R80RT, Honda VF700F, and my NT700 - about which I have not yet changed a tire. You have never had a VFR, have you?
I was one of those who refused to buy anything without a shaft after owning Viragos and a Yamaha XV920 RH with a fully enclosed chain in a lithium grease bath. But the VFR has a unique chain adjustment feature and the rear tire comes off basically with 5 bolts, much like a car wheel. Thanks to Chuck, I use the dupont chain cleaner and chain wax and clean the chain maybe twice a year. Looks like new. I do remember those days of tube tires and 1960s-70s Japanese bikes where the chain had to come off to change the tires which you had to do often. At least they had a master link. And the chain and sprokets would wear fast....(My Vstrom isnt hard at all to remove the rear wheel. Certainly easier than an NT)There are many bikes I've never owned. Sorry to hear about the accident Dave. Will be a painful healing, however glad it wasn't worse. The NT1100 looks great however I lost interest when they noted DCT and chain driveYes ok. 3 ribs cracked in 2 places = 6, plus 1 crack on right ribs = 7 different places. DCT is a killer for me.....Sorry to hear about the accident Dave. Will be a painful healing, however glad it wasn't worse. The NT1100 looks great however I lost interest when they noted DCT and chain driveI've been riding shaft drive Honda's since the 80's and never a problem so hate to go back to chain. I know the chains are much better than they used to be and I have chain on my dual sport. I just love the maintenance free aspect of the shaft. Just change oil and grease the splines when changing the tire. Good luck on your decisions.
