Lots of Historic days coming up, If you like History. The Doolittle raid. It was proven that you could take a loaded B25 off of a carrier as long as the carrier was making 20 knots into a good wind. The raid was a real moral booster for the US homefront. But the Japanese military lost so much face that they felt they had to invade the Hawaiian Islands. So After the Midway operation in June, that was the next target and planning started May 25th. Logistics would have been murder.... 60 cargo ships a month to keep Hawaii afloat.....but they were now willing to take the risk. Yamamoto insisted. Thankfully, Midway backfired on the Japanese.
