FJR recall

On another website, a FJR rider who is a friend commented that the effected models were most or all non-USA spec.

I remember the early FJ 1100 and some 1200's had problems with second gear. Those would jump out of gear.
Pretty expensive recall. Good on them for standing behind what they sell.

I am following my FJR forum.
Right now, they have moved onto Canada for the recalls.
"For US owners who are not finding their bike included in the recall, based on VIN, earlier in this thread there was an owner in Canada whose bike was also not included in the recall when the recall was first announced. Several days later his bike was included.

My bike is not included at this time either but I fully expect it will be in the coming days. I suspect Yamaha will be updating the list of included US VINS just like they did for Canada several days after the recall was announced. "

My bike is too old but if I were going to have this done, I would have the valves checked and the plugs replace. ;)
Chris with the five speed. Beep Beep. (Who is old enough to remember the 6 speed Suzuki Hustler having issues?)

Looks like I could have a defective front brake switch. Lots of Teneres and tracers out there....

I recently received a recall notice for my 2019 Yamaha XMAX. They say the rear red reflector that sits above the license plate is defective. Seems to reflect light fine to me. Not going to bother to take it in for that.

I also recently received a recall notice for the rear reflectors on my R3, seems the reflectors do not reflect sufficiently, maybe in the spring I'll run over to the Yamaha dealer and get some new whizbang rear refectors.

My wife received a recall on her 2015 Subaru. Some sort of little switch connector under the PAX seat...... As she drove away, a "dinger" would go off every 10 seconds or so. With the seat belt unfastened. She drove right back to the dealer . 30 minutes later, they told us our car was bad and would need a new pax seat bottom for $1300!!!!! After I scraped my wife off the dealer's ceiling, we drove away with the seat belt fastened.

About 20% of the time that I get into my wife's CRV, the seat back starts pushing forward as far as it will go when I'm getting my feet in. I'm sure there's no way to fix it without replacing the whole seat.

Phil - call the American Honda Customer Service telly number in the back of your CRV's owner's manual and air your griefs.

I have my FJR booked in for the "recall" work. Earliest date they have to do that sort of work is mid February as it needs their most experienced mechanic for about 14 hours or so.

I'll probably get them to do the 10,000 km service at the same time even though it'll be a little early.

Are you staying off the FJR until you can get the work done?

No.

From what I can gather, it is the bikes that have been ridden hard (or harder) that have had the problems. As I don't ride the bike hard, it should be OK (famous last words 😀 ).

Having the gear grenade on you and locking the rear wheel should be very exciting.
