I'm still working on the recently acquired NT700, down to changing the oil. The bike came with an OEM filter which I picture below. I could not find a part number match for the existing filter, but one of the online parts places recommended the 15410-MFG-D02, also pictured. Can somebody clue me on whether this is correct or point me to a known good crossover filter?

A readily available oil filter is the Wix WL10000. Designed specifically for Honda motorcycles. Available at your local auto parts store. The key dimension of the NT filter is the height. Too tall and the center stand punctures the metal housing. The Wix WL10000 is specifically designed for this reason. Hope this helps!

I recommend you get the filter set with the removal tool. Honda OEM part no: 15010MCEH51. The filter can be a real pig to remove at times so the tool comes in handy!

If you just need the filter the OEM part no is: 15410MFJD01.

Do an internet search for those part numbers

Yes, as Mike said don't get one that is taller than stock. And with the taller ones you might get lucky and the center stand just dent it. If it is not your lucky day a puncture.

SP/N 15410MFJD02...
Check the length if using a pattern filter... otherwise the cross-member of the main stand could slice the tin casing, causing an oil spill...

The oil filter wrench shown in the previous Email works much better than the factory Honda filter wrench. I have both so I know!

Due to the limited access, there have been times when the wrench doesn't work. Even the screwdriver carefully placed through the filter just tears the metal. In those cases a set of grips crushing the filter body are the only thing that works. DAMHIK...

I have a metal cup that fits over the end of the filter with a 3/8" opening for an extension that fits thru the aperture in the center stand. It is made by Lisle. I will try to find the part number. It is available for order at any parts store.

Here is a Honda filter wrench that I bought for 5 bucks 30 or so years ago. Still have it as it fits the filters for my FJR and Kawasaki. Worth it's weight in gold.

The filter wrench is Lisle part #61540, 66mm with 14 flutes, hope this helps!

Used exactly this style just yesterday on my GF's NT700...
Angled 17mm ring spanner, works like a charm...
