I left Monday morning on a 3 night motorcycle camping trip to the Texas Hill Country. Got home early this afternoon. This was simply a time for me to have fun. Discovered some new roads that were most enjoyable. Ate at the Hog Pen BBQ and the Bent Rim Grill - both excellent. Bent Rim makes wonderful burgers; I had their Fat Bob. Stopped for coffee at Barksdale Coffee - got a pint size cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin the size of a softball for $6.25!

Strong wind from the south every day, makes riding more of a chore. It rained Wednesday night - nothing in the tent got wet. Set the tent up to dry once I got home.
Puppies were happy to see me, as was the woman God gave me. Put about 1,300 miles on the bike - it gave me no trouble.

That looks great. I really enjoyed the pictures. Thanks for sharing.

I've been within 10 miles of Texas at 3 times now, but have never set foot (or wheel) in Texas. Now I'm a bit motivated to go there and it might involve trailering down there this winter to get some motorcycle therapy.

If you get to central or south Texas, holler at me!

Ditto for the Bent Rim, the best burger I think I've ever had. I go there every time I'm in the area.

Where did you camp? Looks like Garner SP.

Yes, burgers from Bent Rim are boss! And you are correct - Garner State Park. My wife and I love that place.

Trailer behind motorcycle or motorcycle on a trailer?
Well - Ya never know. I may have confused you. I was referring to towing my motorcycle on a trailer. I have a tilt-bed trailer which I love because loading/unloading of most everything is so easy.

But I do have a trailer hitch that can bolt on the bucket of my tractor and push a trailer. Iit's handy for moving a trailer into a tight spot or backing up a 4-wheeled wagon. PLUS with a two wheeled trailer I can raise the tongue way up which lowers the back in order do facilitate unloading. Sort of a Red Green dump trailer.

HaHa. Just wondered. I have thought about RV travel with a bike on the trailer. Kendon trailer is easier than a hitch mounted carrier for a too small motorcycle.
If you do head south, try to camp at Arches NP, Devil's Garden campground. It is 17 miles from the entrance and only CG in the park. It is elevated and the entire area is light free There are no towns, no night/security lights. Chris and I camped two nights there Fall 2020. I hardly slept watching the sky with my tent fly off. Great place. we also stayed at Bryce Canyon and Zion NPs. It was a great trip (during Covid too).

Now you've got me thinking I've got to go. We'll have snow next month and the roads will be a mess. That will be my excuse for leaving. Do you think my wife will buy it????

No snow indeed. Tell her it is in the BMW Warranty and you plan to scout Horse Friendly locations.
In two weeks I leave WA for 6 months in FL. Sadly, no motorcycles due to crazy traffic. Now the motorcycles are getting ready to sleep the Winter. :(
