Lots of Stugis people leaving SD heat behind. Or Montanians care about the Amazon Rain forest. TWO people held doors for me! Shocked in Butte.

I had hopes of meeting up with you this week but never got launched. My mother in law had health issues. But she is now in a rehab facility.

I am going to go home starting tomorrow. Weather is closing in. Going into the park today, I got caught behind a road painting truck, but saw 3 big Horn sheep not 30 ft away above me in the park. Made the lake village breakfast buffet by 5 min. Hit the paint truck coming back, of course, but was diverted around a bad wreck on a back road and made it back to Cody. Still glad I got away from terrible wildfires for awhile. Butte tomorrow night. It would have been cool to meet up. Maybe one more tour this year. Idaho?
I am so sorry about your mom in law. I loved my first MIL more than my mom.

BTW, lots of Harley riders from Sturgis. Many seem to be into collecting WWII German helmets...

Much of the smoke has cleared, at least. Heart Mountain. Tear falls. 😢 One of the many places where, including a valued forum member, Americans were "protected" by the US Govt in 1942. The machine guns pointed INTO the camps.. Say what you will about J. Edger Hoover, he was against the plan. šŸ™IMG_20260812_173026291_copy_932x530.jpg

Light rain in Cody. Feels good. I had forgotten what rain and cool feels like. Screenshot_20260812-203913.MyRadar_copy_529x697.png

Got out of Cody/Yellowstone just in time. Cool cloudy ride to Three forks, then sun.
Even a blind pig makes a good decision sometimes. At Butte for the night. Statue watches over gnarly clouds behind rampart mountain.

T storm hit during my nap. Long one. I would have to say "Weather Bug" Spark is inferior to Lightning Tracker, although the flashes are more impressive. First pic is Pro. You can tap on the flash and get all sorts of info. Homestake pass got clobbered.
