Got's me a 2025 NT1100!!!!

You have the OEM top box, you gots more blue than me!!
My dealer gave me 20% off on the extra's and this is most likely the last new bike I buy. So I thought I would spend some of the kids inheritance. I also splurged for a 4 years extended warranty because of the electronics. Dealer also gave me a excellent price. That will bring me into my 80's

Just looked up Seth Laam seats. I think he was in CA, now his website says Cottageville, WV, which is about west of Parkersburg, WV. I think I will do a ride in, in a couple months. He is very close in looks and function to Russell DayLong

Contrary to the rumor going around that the side cases are the smaller ones and will not fit a helmet, I call that false. I just tried and yes a HJC extra large Symax III helmet will fit into both side cases. But just barely.

Hey Dave, Cottageville is only 40 to 45 miles south of me. If coming north on I-77 you would exit at Ripley.

Chuck, could you let me know what you paid for the extended warrantee? I paid $2500 for 7 years/70,000 on my new Subaru Crosstrek.

Still want a full report from you guys on mundane things like vibration and how hard to put up on the center stand. I think you were wise to buy now. Some car makers are announcing price increases. It is unclear to me what the tarrifs will do to bikes. Subaru is the next car company to announce price increases. There are only two Subaru plants in the world. My crosstrek is built in America with about 50 percent content off shore parts. The subarus built in Japan will increase about $2,000.

My dealer gave me a deal on the ext. warrantee. 4 years around 550 dollars. Normal over 900 bucks with out roadside assistance. Which I get thru AMA for any of my bikes.

AMA has the best deal going for roadside assistance, which includes all your vehicles except RV's.

My road side assistance with Safeco is $12 a year per bike, but Frosty tried to use his a few miles from a small town and 40 from a much larger city (Bozeman) and no one came.

I would absolutely have sprung for that too. Too many computers and gee gaws.

I pulled a muscle in my calf wrestling it up on the stand. On the mend I faced forward ( not towards the bike, towards the direction of travel), slipped my hand into the rail like I was reaching for a holstered gun and stepped down with my right heel while pulling up and back on the rail. It came up so easy.

Well, not dissing your technique but I have never seen that done. I am very weak and light (153 lbs) and the Concourse with out bags was so much of a challange I carried a small 3/4 in thick board for awhile to roll the rear tire up on. The FJR, I take the bags off, but the loaded bike with bags, canyon cages, sliders, and rear roll bars and luggage rack is pushing 700 lbs. But if I wear boots, stand close, it goes up pretty easily. The VFR and Vstrom are a piece of cake.

Just to let every one know that is interested. I received my authorized Honda NT1100D/P Service Manual today It took a week and a half. They told me when I ordered it it would be 5 to 6 weeks. Not cheap but one or two DIY oil changes will pay for the manual. 87 bucks. Lots of pages with colored wiring diagrams. Phone number and internet address is in the back of the Owners manual.

I dont know what I am talking about but there is a new system of using the digital world to turn various functions on and off. Does the NT1100 use this? or is it dumb wiring?

Just glancing through the manual real quick I read the valve adjust procedure. The intake valves are shim under bucket adjust and the exhaust vales are locknut/ screwdriver adjust. Strange, but that tells me the intakes will not move very much but the exhaust might need frequent adjustments when checked via the service interval. Gentlemen, we do have a strange machine here.

I am sure it uses something similar as most cars do now also. I believe the Honda auto engineers hacked into the Moto engineers computers and change some of the designs before they went to manufacturing. The Japanese version of our April Fools jokes.

Here is the video on how to do the job on an African Twin. I wonder how many AT owners find the shims out of tolerance?

This is a job that you want a cycle lift and a very well lit working area.

At first glance, it appears to be similar to the current CAN bus sytems which are commonly used in new automotive applications. BMW was the first to use it in motorcycle applications and it wreaked havoc with the aftermarket accessory business at first. AFAIK, BMW is still the sole manufacturer to use a CAN bus system in motorcycles.
